Once Again, the Wheelchair is Used to Restrain Lauren

Case Assessment: Substantiated

All too frequently, wheelchairs are used as an acceptable restraint. Specific to Lauren, it was finally in her 'plan' that she was not to be in a wheelchair with the exception of using it for transportation on buses or vans. Unfortunately, there are people who will continue to use them to immobilize those they are charged to caring for. In this case, the existence of a wheelchair in Lauren's life led to her being restrained unnecessarily.
